FLASH SALE: Until Friday, the vinyl edition of “Normal Bias” is on sale for only eight dollars! It’s on white vinyl, too. Click the picture to listen/order if you want!
And much to my surprise, here’s ten minutes of video from a show I played this weekend. Maybe not everything they say about Lakeland is true.
Sometimes people do fanmade videos for your songs and you’re like “what the hell is going on”? Here’s an example of one. This showed up in my twitter feed a few minutes ago. I’m like “cool, someone did a video for ‘The Proper Amount Of Snare’, I like that tune, glad someone else likes the song that I made up, wonder what it’s like, etc”, and then I clicked on it.
Maybe don’t watch it at work.
Maybe someone can explain it to me.
Maybe I shouldn’t be thinking about it so hard.
Capping off the day by listening to my own (most recent) album, Popular Music. It’s still the thing I am most proud of making. If you want to hear it/get it/etc, you can do it at this link right here. .

FLASH SALE: “RetroLowFi: 10 Years Of Marc With a C” is a 32-track compilation of the best of my early lo-fi stuff. The music is spread over two translucent red LP’s… and it’s on sale for only TEN BUCKS until Friday! (That’s half the price).
Features all the early tunes you’d need, like “Nerdy Girls”, “Life’s So Hard”, “Laura, I Need Medicine”, “I’m In Love With Everyone I Know”, “No London In Brazil”, “Drunk Classic Rock Fans”, etc, et al!
Marc With a C - The Official Ironmen Rally Song
Sometimes you get the chance to play with one of your big time songwriting idols. Tonight was one such instance for me. Oh sure, I’ve played with Steve Poltz a few times now, but the thrill of doing a concert with a gentleman that might only be second to Pete Townshend on the scale of “why Marc With a Cmakes up songs in the first place” will never, ever go away.
My setlist was: Free Bird / I’m In Love With Everyone I Know / Daddy, Make The Sun Come Out / Dickpuncher III: The Dickening / The Audience Is Listening / Try To Just Stop / You’re My Princess / Life’s So Hard / Stairway To Rudolph
And then Steve Poltz effortlessly mopped the floor with me. If shows were a competition between acts, it’d have been like Estelle Getty (me) trying to take on Muhammed Ali (Steve). There’s no one on earth like Steve (and certainly no other performer that comes close), and I’m happy to know him. You should all thank him too, because without all of the inspiration I got from those albums by The Rugburns, without learning how to really tell a story onstage from him, without the exposure to how far you can really take being a one man show that I learned from him? There’d be no Marc With a C, period
Thank you, Steve. And thank you to all that came to the show in Tampa on such short notice. Can’t wait to come back!
IT’S HERE!
The first single from the upcoming Claire and The Potatoes album. Please tell us what you think. We’ve worked really, really hard on the new record, and I’m super excited to share this preview with you.
Watch me prove once and for all that money CAN buy happiness.
The Real Congregation :: We’ve Got You Covered! :: 3/5/13
So, we had a request for a microsode by one Geoffrey Voss. A request that we’d devote thirty minutes to the art of the cover song. The arrangements, how one is chosen, etc. Sir Voss also requested that we have Walt Ribeiro from For Orchestra along for the ride. And that sounded pretty good, but… it just wasn’t enough.
Instead? We’re devoting TWO HOURS to this wide topic, playing you some of the coolest and most interesting interpretations around. Your host, Marc With a C (that’s me), knows that there’s no way to really wrap this episode up in a way that will please everyone, so he’s done his best to merely dip his foot into what is ultimately a very, very deep well. Come along for the ride, featuring an interview with Walt Ribeiro!
